Alright then, we know a little about the problem, what about the solution? It 's as simple as a sign you probably see and obey everyday, a STOP sign. That's it, STOP! Repentance from pornography is not an option, nor a suggestion, it is a requirement. It is no easy thing to discipline self, but if we act on impulse and ignore the consequences, we will surely defile our own minds and bodies. Please look with me at a remarkable passage of scripture found in the book of Job 31:1-14. The New International Version gives some necessary clarity on these ancient verses. Verse 1. I made a COVENANT with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl. Verse 2. For what is man's lot from God above, his heritage from the Almighty on high? Verse 3. Is it not ruin for the wicked, disaster for those who do wrong? Verse 4. Does HE not see my ways and count my every step? Verse 5. If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit, Verse 6. Let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless, Verse 7. If my steps have turned from the path, IF MY HEART HAS BEEN LED BY MY EYES, or if my hands have been defiled, Verse 8. Then may others eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted. Verse 9. IF MY HEART HAS BEEN ENTICED BY A WOMAN, OR IF I HAVE LURKED AT MY NEIGHBOR'S DOOR, Verse 10. THEN MAY MY WIFE GRIND ANOTHER MAN'S GRAIN, AND MAY OTHER MEN SLEEP WITH HER. ( If you would not tolerate another man viewing your wife's nakedness, then don't look at another man's wife, sister, mother, or daughter!) Verse 11. For that would have been shameful, a sin to be judged. Verse 12 It is a fire that burns to Destruction; it would have uprooted my harvest. Verse 14. What will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account? Job is called patient, but in those verses we clearly see his wisdom. He reasoned that if it was harmless for him to lust after any woman then some other man would have the same mindset when lustfully looking at or worse yet, frolicing with Mrs. Job! Some men just don't seem to care. Well alright then, let me ask you something. What if some pervert was checking out your daughter? Exactly!! Now I am certain that some will inevitably ask the following questions, Ex; Why in the world would you approach a problem like pornography addiction with verses from ancient scripture? What good will this ancient book do when pitted against the temptations of this technologically advanced age? I have several answers to such questions, but I too have unanswered questions. What percentage of those who have an unusual urge to view porn. have the resources to afford professional help? I don't think it would be an exaggeration if I said that there probably aren't enough trained professionals to counsel those in need. Even if one has the resources available to get professional help, isn't it possible that the doctor may be struggling with the same or similar problem also? Now you may ask, how can you stop, subdue, or get rid of something as natural as the human sex drive by reading...the bible? Well actually, it was a shock to me to learn that God, who is indeed the Creator of the mind, and is without sin of any kind, is the Creator of this natural desire. The scriptures show clearly that God has designed a way by which this fiery heterosexual desire may be expressed. It is within the sacred bounds of Holy Matrimony, and no where else. Now some will scoff at that last sentence, and propose to educate me of the realities of the sexual habits of this modern age, and they will explain how better off a person will be in life by not laboring under any kind of moral restraints. That may be the lesson gathered from their life experience. It is foolishness to me. Here is a lesson I've learned from being a Pastor's Kid. Any child that grew up as a P.K. or Pastor's kid can probably tell you about the devastation that undisciplined people have brought into their own lives and into the lives of those that love them. Those P.K.'s can also tell you of the times they have seen their father's battle to help people that have been vigorously warned to avoid self destructive behavior, but wise counsel was ignored, and the consequences have brought some of the strongest men of faith to tears. How many nights has the phone rang after midnight? How many times has blissful sleep been interrupted by that dreadful call? The quietness of night disrupted by the piercing screams of an inconsolable mother, her cries coming through the phone receiver, delivering the tragic news, the death of her wayward child! Unbelievable! So many young people have destroyed their own lives while relentlessly pursuing pleasure. It recently occurred to me that most of the problems besetting our country, such as sexual immorality, substance abuse, violence, etc. could be avoided if the things taught in the scriptures were obeyed! The restraints that God demands for all His creation are not to make our lives miserable, but rather to preserve us from misery that unrestraint can cause. Indeed, Jesus has come to give us life and that more abundantly. Please read John 10:10. If the bible were nothing more than myth then disobeying it should not result in the mess that humanity has become in the last century. The above mentioned problems should not be on the increase as we move away from the doctrine given in the scriptures. Departing from myths should show no change for the negative in one's life, but departing from wisdom and the fear of the God of creation will, and it has. I assure you that this ancient book contains the " PERFECT SOLUTION " to the problems of life. But let me, please, if you will, pursue for a moment another concern. When I first put this website on line in late July of 2009, there were  few, and I mean few websites trying to deal with the problem of pornography addiction. I thought it would be a welcome sight to those who want to change their behavior but just can't seem to be able to stop viewing pornography. If you've ever looked into the eyes of a man who says he loves his wife and says he still finds her attractive but still can't stop viewing pornography, you will probably be able to see a sincere plea for help. Sometimes the plea can be heard in their voice and at those times you realize that a man just won't acknowledge something so personal as that unless he's really having a serious problem. To friends and family he's a pillar of strength but when left alone with a computer he doesn't feel so strong. Countless others with similar problems are on the verge of making shipwreck of their lives, but what do they do? There is no pharmaceutical solution. There is no magic pill to make you stop viewing pornography, so be realistic. I am not being impractical by pointing men and women(because it's not only a man's problem anymore) to the King of Glory, I am being realistic. I soon noticed that it didn't take long for other websites to start popping up shortly after this website was launched, one could have been sued for plagiarism but I refused to follow through, because I reasoned, "Hey, the more fighting this fight, the merrier". However, what I find to be really disgusting is the money grabbers, those people who are going to offer some psychological pablum for, oh, say around $300.00 a client! These are the kind of people that just don't get it! Somebody can be pulled out of the fire that's slowly burning down his soul but if he doesn't have the required fee...Oh well! Imagine a fire fighter who must be payed in advance before a drop of water is sprayed, or a police officer who demands a fee up front before pulling an attacker off of you. PEOPLE NEED HELP NOW ! How do you arrive at a suitable amount to charge people for whatever it is they receive, and do you get a refund if you're not cured at the end on the program? The psychologists have it half right. In the book of Acts, Chapter 1, verse 8, it reads;  But ye shall receive POWER after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Friend, in order to resist the temptations that are constantly and relentlessly being thrown at you, you must have POWER ! Furthermore, if you will be a witness, or a person who determines to be obedient to the Spirit of Christ (which is the Holy Ghost as 2 Corinthians 3:17 states, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.), you will need the same POWER that indwelt the early church and gave them the strength to be witnesses, or more accurately, as the ancient Greek manuscripts described these witnesses as  MARTYRS.  The early church had been persecuted so severely for their faith in Christ Jesus that they were martyred by evil rulers. These believers  of Christ gave their last full measure and chose death rather than bowing to some ego maniac who thought himself to be a god.  Bishop R. C. Lawson once remarked the following during a sermon, "I've seen all old gods DIE!"  In other words, he was saying that every man who proclaims himself to be a god, or immortal, dies, as do all other mortals. It is only by the power of the Holy Ghost that those precious souls held on to their faith, hope and love. In 1 Corinthians 4:20, it reads; For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in POWER. This POWER is absolutely necessary to be free from pornography addiction or any other type of addiction for that matter. Please let me assure you that I am not attacking all psychologists, psychiatrists, or their science, I am aware however that even some of these professionals have struggled with pornography addiction. so then having a brilliant mind is not always the solution, because the smartest man of his time (King Solomon) walked right into a snare that he had specifically been warned of. In other words, the most brilliant minds have fell victim to the same old (3) tactics used by the enemy of our souls. Those (3) tactics are listed in 1 John 2:16, which reads; For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Verse 17; And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
